1. Product Overview
UR6EV is a high-density digital I/O expansion card for GE UR series multifunction protection relays, installed inside the relay chassis via internal backplane slot, powered by the main unit’s 24VDC backplane bus. Compared with UR6PH (4DI+6DO), UR6EV prioritizes more digital input channels (8DI) for massive switchgear status monitoring, matched with 4 relay outputs for auxiliary control and alarm signals. All DI channels adopt optocoupler galvanic isolation with RC noise filter (10~20ms filter time constant) to eliminate substation EMI interference. Unique wire-break monitoring function for both input and output loops: the module continuously detects open circuit, short circuit and overload faults of each channel, records fault events with millisecond timestamps and uploads to the relay HMI and SCADA system. All relay outputs are industrial Form-A contacts with high load capacity, directly driving alarm horns, fault indicators and auxiliary interlock circuits without intermediate relays. The module integrates full surge & ESD protection, wide temperature industrial hardware, suitable for high electromagnetic interference environments of power plants, substations and petrochemical power distribution rooms. GE has stopped mass production, only surplus new stock and refurbished spare parts are available in aftermarket.
